Saf-Toy Electric Engine

Something different. This is an American Saf-Toy Electric Engine. That's about all i know! I would imagine
it was probably made in the 1950s and is an electrically driven model simulating a steam engine. A little
disassembly has revealed that the piston is actually a little air pump. So after a short period of running the
chamber under the chimney & whistle will pressurise allowing the whistle to be operated. I suspect that the
chimney housed a simple safety valve. If anyone has any information about these please let me know.

Now sporting what i hope is the correct size chimney and an old Mamod whistle which makes a good stand in for the
original. I've also added a belt to drive the dummy governor.
